Random Things...

Firearms Refresher Course

1. "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not." Thomas Jefferson

2. "Those who trade liberty for security have neither." ~ Benjamin Franklin

3. Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.

4. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

5. Only a government that is afraid of its citizens tries to control them.

6. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

7. You only have the rights you are willing to fight for.

8. Know guns, know peace, know safety- No guns, no peace, no safety.

9. You don't shoot to kill; you shoot to stay alive.

10. Assault is a behavior, not a device.

11. 64,999,987 firearms owners killed no one yesterday.

12. The United States Constitution (c) 1791. All Rights Reserved.

13. The Second Amendment is in place in case the politicians ignore the others.

14. What part of 'shall not be infringed' do you NOT understand?

15. Guns have only two enemies; rust and politicians.

16. When you remove the people's right to bear arms, you create slaves.

17. The American Revolution would NEVER have happened with gun control.

And if you ever wondered...

Yes, there ARE tests to make sure weapons WILL fall off/launch from airplanes safely; but 'sometimes'  it doesn't quite go as advertised...

THAT is why they are called TEST Pilots, and deserve ALL the credit they seldom get!!!

And I FINALLY got that little clip of Snigs shooting to work...

She's definitely NOT a wimp, these are full up .357 magnum defense loads through her Ruger Blackhawk and they were ALL COM!!!

And this one is just plain funny...

And welcome a new blogger to the fold!  Joey is an old friend from mumble years ago, and will soon be starting her pistol training. She's promised to blog about her experiences as she progresses to her CCW!  Her blog is Have to Scream Now, as in "It's been lovely, but I have to scream now"...

Y'all have a good week, ya hear! :-)

  3. I wonder how many "non-gunnies" realize how much different America would look with out the citizen's "Right to Bare Arms".

  7. OUCH....the drop tests towards the end with the F/A-18 and the A-4 looked pretty severe.

  8. I would suggest your friend start with ear plugs and muffs at first. I've found woman shooters are bothered more by the noise than recoil.

  9. Smile at the muzzle - wait for the flash.

  10. I like how liberals love to use that Ben Franklin quote UNTIL you start talking to them about gun control.

  11. Gun control is important. Lack of proper control means that you won't be able to put ordnance on target. Speed is fine and accuracy is final.

This is the only sort of gun control that I recognize as being valid in a free state.

  13. A couple of the Boeing photographers I've worked with have been *IN* the chase plane during events like this.
I'll have to ask them if they remember any of these.

  14. I didn't see the one when a Crusader (A-8?) shot himself down with a Sidewinder.

'Course that could be a Sea Story. :-)

  15. drjim- That particular one was out of VX-4 at Magu (I think)...

Crucis- Yep early days an F-8 DID fire one at/near supersonic and sucked it right back down the intake... :-(

  16. Back in the day, at the Misawa gun range they had a berm that was deflecting shot canon rounds back up and hitting the AC.
    Leveled the berm.

  17. Loved Have to Scream Now. Thanks for introducing Joey!

And out of curiosity, was my non-wimpness ever in question? I am a touch attached to my BlackHawk & it's now #2 on the list of things to grab first in case of house fire. Pictures of the Kids is still #1 & clean underwear comes in at a respectable #3. :D

  18. Skip- If I 'remember' right, a couple of our F-4 drivers got a 'tad' pissed and some rather pointy threats got made to the Air Force CO... :-)

Snigs- Not to me, but I'm just 'proving' a point! :-)
